Anna Lynn Houk has loved, ridden, shown, trained and competed with horses for over 50 years. For a large part of her adult life, she has shared her passion by teaching riding and introducing her students to the fun of showing. Her primary experience is in the Hunter/Jumper discipline; however, she does have some experience in western pleasure, dressage and even Thoroughbred racing.
Anna Lynn is married to Kevin and together they have two adult children, Diane and Ayrton. Diane is an accomplished equestrian and Ayrton prefers the type of horsepower that has 4 wheels. Besides the two horses her family owns, she also has two crazy black labrador retrievers and a barn cat. Outside of the horse world, Anna Lynn loves auto racing, travel and spending time with her family.
Having been away from teaching for a short while, Anna Lynn is really excited to get back to working with kids and adults that want to build their horsemanship skills and have fun. "The best part of teaching is seeing a big smile on my student's face as they learn a new skill and feel the connection they have made with the animal they are partnered with!"
My mom's father won a $1 raffle for a pony at work when she was young and we always joked saying, "that $1 ticket, cost him thousands of dollars later." My mom later moved on to showing Quarter Horses as a teen, where she met me dad in high school. Owning and showing horses has always been a part of my family. I started showing western pleasure around age 4. As a youth, I showed halter, western pleasure, horsemanship, showmanship, and trail. In 2002, I placed first in the state in 14-18 Western Pleasure. Upon graduating high school, I joined the equestrian team at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods where I became a Regional Champion, Zones Champion, and National Qualifier. I graduated SMWC in 2007 and took a break from horses to focus on my marriage and career. I hold memberships in AQHA, NSBA, IQHA, and APHA.
I've been married to my husband, DJ, for 14 years and we have two children, Wesley (8) and Darby (11). Some of the things we enjoy as a family includes being members of White River Christian Church, attending various racing events, supporting local community non-profits/charities, snow skiing, and spending time on the Morse Lake.
Our daughter, Darby began learning to ride as an 8 year-old under the instruction of Robin Lawrence, which sparked my interest in english riding. In 2023, I purchased my first Hunter Under Saddle trained Quarter Horse, "Huntin' Good Vibes" or "Cash", as we like to call him. We finished our 2023 show year as 2x Reserve Congress Champions in the Level 1 Amateur Walk Trot, under trainer Nicole Brown Veldoff. I am looking forward to continuing to build my riding skills in the english discipline and adding equitation and showmanship to our show skills in 2024.
AManda wewetzer is a mom of two, Joss (8) and Laban (15). her family has bred high level AQHA halter horses for most of her life. she started showing at age 7 in halter, showmanship, western pleasure, and horsemanship. Sam Clymer Management & Riding Instructor
Sam Clymer is a mom to one human baby named Mckenzie and all of her fur baby siblings. Sam strives to build a life for "Kenz" where she is around great educated horse people and all the animals possible, because she believes that’s just the coolest childhood.
"My childhood started with horses at about 10, by 13 I was starting 2-year-olds for a trainer's lesson program. My interests split in highschool between barrel racing/rodeo and dressage. I have trained with as many people as I could lesson with and will never be done learning. During that journey my personal horse and I won 1st at the state highschool pole bending and I also have received my bronze medal in dressage." Most of Sam's experience has been with young horses or young riders. "The foundation to build on is what I focus on most in lessons, for both horse and rider, I believe the program at Lakeside Equestrian will have a perfect balance of that!"
